Did you ask?

Many times we pray for others. We may pray: Help them find a job. Help them with this medical problem. We occasionally even ask others to pray for us. This seems fairly normal, but do we ever stop and pray for ourselves? This is not to say that we stop praying for others and only pray for ourselves. Just to say that if we have a need, that we can ask GOD to help with that need. There is no need to small or to big. I know this seems like a no brainer but I find myself not even […]

Somewhere Between Delicious & Delilah

I love to look up the definition of words I have read or heard, even when I already have a general idea of what it means. While reading today I came upon the word delight, which I found sandwiched in the dictionary between the words delicious and Delilah. This is how Webster defines the word delight: to give great pleasure, to be highly pleased; rejoice. Armed with this knowledge, I headed to Scripture to see if this would change my interpretation of several familiar verses. My first stop was Psalms 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give […]

Forgiveness!

Why should you forgive? I think this is a very important question for everyone. What is forgiveness? Forgiveness means to pardon or end of blame. To forgive someone would be to stop blaming them for something they did to you or that you perceive they have done. Will you forget most likely not, but if you have forgiven them you should forget. To forget would not necessarily mean we do not remember, but that we do not bring it up again. Forgiving someone is more for you than them. Holding a grudge or bitterness can and will eventually destroy you. […]

The Art of Being Still

Some people are known for their laid back personalities-I am NOT one of these people.  I live my life at one speed, mach 7.  I am always on the move, even when I’m at home, because I want to be so efficient that not one moment of my day is wasted.  Proverbs 31:27 (She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness) had become my modus operandi.  This quality makes for a hard worker but is not helpful when trying to learn the art of being still.  I have always wanted to be a […]

Worry Good or Bad

My life verse is Matt 6:34 (NLT): So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. This is what I try to live by, No Worries. So today’s question: Is worrying bad for you or good? Take your time. Like my life verse says, no, you should not worry. So we know you should not worry about things, but we do. So is it bad for me to worry? I think the answer is yes and no. Worrying can consume you and take over, making it hard to do anything with […]
